Google has the ability to share and collaborate typed documents, spreadsheets and presentation assignments through Google Drive. There is the ability for collaboration between students and between the teacher and student as well. As a math teacher, I would consult the Language Arts teacher to create my assignments since we use it regularly in our district to keep some consistency between our classes.

Google Docs is basically a word processor program. It also has an equation editor so you can add math symbols as needed.

Google Sheets is a spreadsheet program. This can be used for real world applications and students can analyze the data and write about it. The button below is a sample lesson I found on YouTube of how to calculate landmarks of data in Google Sheets. I would follow up this spreadsheet activity with a writing assignment to describe what our data looks like. Their writing needs to talk about what the numbers mean and how it describes the data.

Google Slides is a slideshow program. You can add Screencast-O-Matic to talk about your presentation as you present the slides as well for students who are shy to talk in front of the class or you want to view it outside of classroom time. Some ideas to use this would be to have pictures represent vocabulary words or present a career that is math orientated as a presentation.

I am mentioning Google Drive because that is where the above tools can be found. There is also the option to save your work from other programs here and be shareable with others as well.
